Dirty Diaries is a project by Mia Engebreg, that I had the pleasure to watch today, and I’ve enjoyed it. It has raised some controversy, but I feel that this always happens when women decide to produce their own porn, especially if they decide to do it with a new approach. You can buy it in SUBDVD, and maybe soon in my online store

Hi Erika! Engeberg’s project sounds interesting and I would be curious to check it out. I am just not so sure that I have understood your comment posted in response to the articles about the project (pasted below).
It is not clear to me why you are concerned that the Swedish Film Institute has provided funding…? It seems to me very positive that a film questioning popular representation of female sexuality would be provided with funding.
Public debate (or outrage) regarding what kind of art taxpayers’ money should be spent on is a tedious occurance with which we are all too familiar. Arts councils and national film insitutes across the world fund projects that not all taxpaying citizens are interested or approve of… and the artlovers amongst us are grateful for that!
Whether proceeds of Engeberg’s film will be directly invested in the state, I am uncertain.
But patronage of the arts seems to me a cultural investment rather than a purely economic one.
I recall from an interview (I think with Andreu Buenafuente) that you made clear that what you do is PORN and not ‘erotic film’. I was pleased at the time to see you challenge assumptions that women do not like (or should not like) pornography. Is your concern here that porn made by women or specifically by feminists only receives legitimacy if it masquerades as art or makes a social/political statement?
Good luck with your projects and keep making marvellous films!
Micaela

It’s a very sad news that this happened, as a feminist, as Swedish citizen, and as producer and director of adult movies, I feel ashamed that public money has to go to found porn productions of any kind. I’ve just seen that they have make a DVD and they are selling it. I want to know if the money they will earn will go back to the state!
