We usually think that the separation of bathrooms, in bars or restaurants for example, is necessary or kind of comes naturally. Well it is not. Read this very good analysis showing that this is hysteria!, especially when it comes to the stereotypes of sex, gender and desire that the toilet signs show. It’s about men being the default human, and women are people with a (gender) mark, with long hair, or a skirt.

It’s about prejudices about male (hetero-)sexuality being predatory and the separation to be for the safety of women. So within this logic, should there be four toilets when we think of gays and lesbians? Not to mention that this (gender-)binary totally fails when it comes to transgender people.

And what about so-called people with disabilities? They have their own sign and are gendered in their own, kind of a non-sexual way, as something usually depicted as neither male nor female. Read more on this is hysteria!

Today I would like to say a few words about this video of Dan Savage talking about bad foreplay. Dan Savage is a writer and a journalist. He writes the Savage Love column in which he gives advice about sex and relationships. He uses humour to give a down-to-earth and modern perspective to these topics, that’s why I really like his work.

In this particular video he talks about how women sometimes don’t dare tell their boyfriend or husband that they’re basically doing something wrong. All women want to please their boyfriend and it’s not a submissive thing to do at all. However, staying unsatisfied it’s not a favour you’re doing him, nor yourself.

Many men still think women enjoy sex the same way they do, that foreplay isn’t that necessary, that penetration is the only real thing. And I know it can be stressful for guys as well, there’s a lot of pressure on them and they might be scared sometimes of our reaction. That’s why it is indeed good to talk calmly about what you both like, guide each other and learn more about your partner.

Every woman has the right to enjoy good sex, and not to like something, without men calling her frigid, and to talk about it. “I’m not coming” or “I don’t like it when you do that” can be hurtful for a guy for a minute, but if he’s interested in giving you pleasure then he’ll appreciate your honesty and will be glad you guided him. Like Savage says, it’s good for him, for you, and also for his next girlfriend… female solidarity, right?

So, he’s totally right when he says faking orgasm is not a good idea. Sex is a very important part of relationship, for men, and women.

How to do it:

• Send me your photos to my email (erikalust@lustfilms.com) or the links to the pictures
• The Theme is the HEAT to give us our last feeling of warmth before the winter… pictures from your holidays for example.
• The photos should be sensual, romantic, hot, weird, intense… and IMPLICIT. Remember: NO sexually explicit photos and the photo MUST BE YOURS (don’t send me anything you can’t legally spread ok?)

• From the photos I receive, I will choose the ones that don’t infringe the rules and I will upload them on my Facebook page everyday (you remember Facebook’s strict and moralistic policy…)

• Users will vote for their favourite pictures

• After one week (or two, according to the amount of pictures I receive), I will publish the most popular photos on my blog with the authors’ link to their webpage, blog… so that my readers can discover the rest of their work.
