Erika Lust La Cancion de Nora Introducing Nora!

This month has seen the release of my latest book, La Canción de Nora (Nora’s Song). It’s my fifth book since first penning Good Porn: a Woman’s Guide, and it’s also my most personal work. Ever since I was a young girl, I’ve always wanted to write a fictional novel and I absolutely jumped at this opportunity. Just like when I direct films, I’ve found the whole process to be thrilling – even the not-so-fun stuff – and I’m very proud to see it shipped out from the office and on store shelves here in Spain.   At this moment, it’s only available in Spanish, but I’m hoping for translations into English and other major languages later this year!

For those of you who read some Spanish, I encourage you to check out the website (lacanciondenora.com) where you can learn about the book and watch a video about it. For those of you who will be waiting for the translations, I hope you will wait on the edge of your seat with this glimpse of a synopsis:

Nora is twenty-four years old: a modern young woman living in Barcelona. Like most her age, she is vivacious, fun loving, and relishes those experiences life throws at her. She is beginning her exciting film career in the hip, Mediterranean city when life takes an interesting turn … thanks to the direction of lust. Torn between two polar-opposite men, Nora negotiates the precipitous, but incredible, journey of desire with her two lovers. First, there is Xavier, a young producer radiating sophistication and ambition. And then there is Matías, a passionate artist with an undeniable chemistry and mystery about him.

I’m really lucky in that, not only did I get the opportunity to write this book, but it’s already garnered a lot of media interest thanks to my amazing fan-base. It impossible to deny, however, that the explosive popularity of the 50 Shades series hasn’t directly re-kindled the publisher’s, media’s, and public’s interest alike in erotic literature. Though what little, and mostly negative, I have to say about the novels, I can say my opportunity to write, along with many other women authors is the single most positive outcome of this phenomenon.
